April is a month to pause and reflect. It is both National Child Abuse Prevention Month and Autism Awareness Month. These observances remind us of the importance of protecting children and supporting families in ways that are compassionate, understanding, and meaningful.

Not every child feels safe, and not every child feels seen. Many children face challenges quietly, often without anyone noticing. Child abuse is not always visible. It can appear in small changes in behavior, mood, or even in ways that are hard to describe. Awareness is important, not to create fear, but to help us pay attention, recognize the signs, and be willing to step in when help is needed.

Autism Awareness Month calls us to understanding and patience. Children on the autism spectrum experience the world in unique ways, and what they need most is acceptance, encouragement, and support. They deserve to be celebrated for who they are and given opportunities to thrive.

Awareness is only meaningful when it is paired with action. It starts with noticing, continues with listening, and grows when communities work to create safe, supportive, and nurturing environments for children.

This April, let us take time to be attentive, compassionate, and proactive. Every child deserves safety, understanding, and love. Together, as a community, we can make a difference in the lives of children, ensuring they are protected, valued, and supported.

With care,

His Hands and Feet
