September is National Suicide Prevention Month—a time to speak up, raise awareness, and remind every person that there is hope.

As a survivor, I understand the weight of silent pain. I know how isolating it can feel when your thoughts seem too heavy to share. But here’s what I’ve learned: healing is possible, and there is absolutely no shame in asking for help.

Your life has value. You matter.

Breaking the Silence

Mental health struggles are not a sign of weakness. Depression, anxiety, trauma, or thoughts of suicide are challenges that many people face—often in silence.

This month, let’s commit to breaking the stigma. Let’s choose compassion over judgment and create space where people can be honest about their struggles without fear or shame. Sometimes, just knowing that someone cares enough to listen can make all the difference.

If You’re Struggling

Please know that you are not alone. Help is available 24/7:

📞 Call or Text 988 – Suicide and Crisis Lifeline

💬 Chat via 988lifeline.org – Confidential online support

Reaching out takes courage, but your story isn’t over. There is hope, and there are people ready to walk with you through it.

For Friends and Families

If you know someone who is struggling, you can be a lifeline:

  • Listen without judgment. Be a safe space where they can talk freely.

  • Check in often. A quick message or call can mean more than you realize.

  • Encourage professional support. Help connect them to resources that can guide their healing.

  • Be patient and present. Healing takes time, and your support can be a steady source of strength.

Together, We Can Make a Difference

At His Hands and Feet, we believe in showing care and understanding to those in need, whether they’re experiencing homelessness, struggling with mental health, or both. By working together as a community, we can help create a culture where no one feels alone or ashamed to seek help.

Because the truth is, even when life feels overwhelming, there is hope—always.

With compassion and hope,

The His Hands and Feet Team
